Organic cotton, grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides and GMOs, offers several benefits both for your health and for the environment. Here are some of the benefits of wearing organic cotton clothing:
Fewer chemicals: Growing organic cotton excludes the use of toxic pesticides and herbicides. This reduces exposure to harmful chemicals for farmers, textile industry workers and end consumers.
Respect for the environment: Growing organic cotton favors sustainable agricultural practices, thus preserving soil biodiversity, avoiding water pollution and reducing the overall ecological footprint of the cotton industry.
Skin health: Organic cotton clothing is gentler on the skin, which is especially beneficial for people with sensitive skin or skin allergies. The absence of potentially irritating chemical residues helps reduce the risk of skin irritation.
Breathability: Organic cotton is naturally breathable, allowing air to circulate around your body. This helps regulate body temperature and wick away moisture, providing optimal comfort.
Durability: Organic cotton fibers are often stronger, which increases the lifespan of clothing. This reduces the need to frequently replace items, contributing to more sustainable consumption.
Natural decomposition: Organic cotton products are biodegradable, meaning they decompose naturally without leaving any lingering waste.
Supporting Sustainable Agricultural Practices: Purchasing organic cotton products encourages the adoption of environmentally friendly agricultural practices, supporting the transition to more sustainable agriculture globally.
By wearing organic cotton clothing, not only are you choosing products that are healthier for your skin, but you are also helping to promote environmentally friendly agricultural practices and support a more sustainable textile industry.
RECYCLED POLYESTER
Coming mainly from the recycling of water bottles, RPET (Recycled Polyethylene Terephtalate), is commonly called recycled polyester in the textile industry. RPET is one of the major raw materials in the recycling industry. The textile products and textile packaging obtained are woven or knitted and are of a quality comparable to those obtained with fibers spun from virgin materials. The fibers are therefore just as resistant and qualitative as “new fibers”.
